We hired Sorrento Silver Star Car Service throughout our week in Sorrento and our ride down from Rome to Sorrento. Our driver, Rosario, was SUPERB! He arrived early each day, was engaging, humorous, and very professional. Most importantly, he's an excellent driver!. Pointed out many interesting sites as we drove down the Amalfi Coast and drove us to an excellent ristorante for lunch in Amalfi (Trattoria da Ciccio). I would highly recommend this trip along with Rosario!

We had a group of 7 people who visited the Amalfi Coast area from 25 to 29 June. We stayed in Sorrento. We asked to be picked up from Napoli Centrale by SSS to be brought to Sorrento and vice versa on our departure on the 29th. We also hired SSS for a day-tour of the Amalfi Coast on the 27th and another day-tour of Pompeii and Mt Vesuvius on the 28th. We extended this tour to Naples and Luisa agreed without much fuss. We were very happy with all the arrangements. The MB van fitted all 7 of us with our luggages. We saw Rosario who drove the van, waiting for us as we disembarked from the train. Rosario was a good driver, made us feel safe and comfortable. He provided a lot of useful info as we went on to the tour. He was accommodating to our requests. We were all glad that we had Rosario to show us around. We also used a guide to see Pompeii. Lucia who was picked by Luisa, was a perfect guide - very knowlegeable and energetic. We want to thnak Luisa who made all the arrangements to make our visit to the Amalfi Coast hustle-free and memorable.

My husband and I have travelled quite a bit over the years, around the world. We have met wonderful people and had wonderful service experiences throughout those travels. I must admit I am not very good at finding time to sit and write reviews for every experience.
However, our experiences in the fall of 2014 in the South of Italy with Sorrento Silver Star Service were so easy, pleasant, and accommodating, that I would be remiss if I did not share it with other readers here.
First and foremost, the people we worked with – Luisa in the office, and Catello our driver – were fabulous! Flexible, helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly.
We arranged for a pick-up for 6 adults (and our ‘too much’ luggage) in Rome for transfer to Sorrento. It went off without a hitch – including an unexpected but perfect roadside stop for lunch to go. Catello was to drop us at our rental villa in Sorrento, but he first brought us to a grocery and waited while we stocked up on provisions. His creativity in fitting all that in along with all of us and our luggage was much appreciated  Catello delivered us back to Rome at the end of the week as well.
During our week in Sorrento, we booked a day trip for 4 down the Amalfi Coast. Some bad weather was scheduled for our selected day, but we fully intended to do it anyway. But an ‘above and beyond’ call from Luisa offered to postpone the day to one with better weather – and we ended up changing the day twice – with no fees / no penalties for them.
Our day down the coast has been a significant, stand-out memory of our trip. Catello was perfection in his suggestions for stops (olive farm, ceramics making, lunch at an exquisite restaurant hanging over the sea, etc.
The only other thing I can say is that we have just booked air and the villa in Sorrento again for September 2016 --- and we WILL ABSOLUTELY be giving Sorrento Silver Star a call to make our transfer and day excursion arrangements. See you before too long, Luisa and Catello.

Our tour of Vesuvius and Pompeii was incredible, well organized and extremely informative, all due to our wonderful tour guide Pina. She was friendly, energetic and patient with our group of 21. She answered all our questions, and provided unique and interesting facts. We felt the spirit and history of Pompeii thru her descriptions. Highly recommend the tour and especially Pina, fantastico!!

I would like to add to my comments that on our way to our hotel, Paolo brought us to Pompeii where we met Lena for an *** tour of Pompeii. Lena provided us with all of the history about Pompeii and was so very knowledgeable. She was also extremely helpful. This is another tour that I would highly recommend. Lena was a wonderful guide who just made the tour complete...well worth it! She is also fluent in English, very pleasant and a lovely person. Luisa had arranged everything in advance for us and was so very accommodating. She responded so quickly to my emails and answered all questions and just stayed connected. This is a very reliable company with fabulous tours!

May 23, 2015. I had been corresponding with Lusia via email. She was absolutely wonderful and so very helpful! What an *** company!
At the train station, we were greeted by our driver, Paolo. He was so professional, courteous and friendly. He also had a wonderful sense of humor! His knowledge of the area was fantastic and he explained the surrounding area on our way from Naples to our hotel in Sorrento. He was our driver for our tour of the Amalif Coast, which was a highlight of our trip to Italy! Paolo made this drive so exciting and spectuacular. The tour is well worth it! It was just splendid with many stops along the way to see the sights and take photos. On our return trip to the train, we were greeted by Gaetano at our hotel. He was also wonderful and we had a very pleasant ride. Both drivers were fluent in English. I would highly recommend Silver Star and would use them again in the future. Myself and my mum did the Amalfi Coast tour with M***mo on 15th April and I had the best day ever! The trip was organised for my 30th Birthday and I was made to feel so special! M***mo had arranged surprises, being serenaded in the Emerald Grotto by Andreas and being taken by boat round the Amalfi coast. Luisa was brilliant at organising the trip and M***mo was such a great driver and a lovely guy!

:D thank you for our wonderful trip on 26 October. You helped us with planning including train times and contacts beforehand. We were collected from Naples by Alessandro, who told us lots about the area as he drove us to Vesuvius. We walked up and such lovely weather the views were amazing. Alessandro then took us to Pompei to meet our lovely guide Lucia and both suggested a restaurant where we had a delicious lunch. Then Lucia gave us a fascinating 2 hour guide around Pompeii. She covered so much in the time but the time flew and she made it so interesting that even our ten year old has been quoting facts and information ever since! Her knowledge and understanding of the site was phenomenal and it came alive for us all. She then told us where we might find it interesting to look for the hour and a half we had left. Then Alessandro drove us smoothly back to Naples. We could not have done so much in a day, particularly with children without Alessandro and Lucia. The children (15,13 &10) all enjoyed the visit as much as we did and we are very grateful to you all. I am sure we will be back.

ith apologies, Luisa, for the delay in this message: I have been dealing with a cracked elbow (from a fall during a lobbying trip to DC, but now healed) and with a series of trips and obligations.
My sister-in-law contacted you for assistance prior to our family's cruise. During our trip to Southern Italy, you provided us with very nice vehicle accommodations for six and with two very responsible, responsive drivers, Catello and Massimo. Catello took us from our hotel to Pompeii and then to the airport hotel in Rome. He assessed our capacity to deal with extreme heat in Pompeii and found us a delightful restaurant for a restorative meal. His timing was professional and his help appreciated.
We spent the day before with Massimo. I cannot pay enough compliments to him. Massimo was a perfect guide, giving interesting information about the area, ranging from contemporary to ancient life, driving with comforting confidence on the narrow, congested roads and setting up special events for us, from a "private" tour of the Blue Grotto to a ferry ride not anticipated but much enjoyed and refreshing, and a delightful restaurant for lunch. His timing was impeccable: we had enough time to explore on our own, which we enjoy, and all our goals were anticipated and exceeded. He was truly friendly, professional and most sensitive to our family dynamics.
We are very grateful for what your and your drivers' services meant to our vacation and would recommend your business without reservation, expecially since we had a severe disappointment from a similar business in Rome.

I cannot say enough good things about Silver Star and Luisa. Our group of 6 was met at Fiumicino on 18 Sep 2010 by Raffaele for transfer to Sorrento and return on 25 Sep. Raffaele also took us on day trips to the Amalfi Coast and to Pompei and Naples. In addition to being prompt, informative and a terrific driver, Raffaele also accommodated our occasional requests for stops at a grocery store or a travel agency (regarding a lost credit card). His suggestion to hire a guide for Pompei made all the difference in our experience at that historic site -- Lucia was a dynamo, very personable and knowledgeable. I corresponded with Luisa several times before we made our trip, and she was always extremely prompt in answering my questions. She also arranged for a driver on short notice from Rome to Fiumicino to transport 4 of us to a hotel for our last night's stay. I give the highest praise for everyone at SilverStar who made our trip so memorable!

We took a tour to Pompeii and Positano from a Cruise ship in Sept, 2010. It was my favorite day of a 12-day cruise. What a blast! Dominico was a lot of fun, and we had a great day together. The lunch he arranged for us was incredible. Thanks for a great tour!

I felt I had to take a minute to say that the Amalfi coast trip you organised for my family and I was just wonderful. We were picked up promptly and couteous by Rafaele from our hotel and spent a most enjoyable and informative day out. Naples we booked a private bus and private guide for the whole day which ended up costing 1400 euro divided by 20. Great price! The name of the company was Sorrento Silverstar and our guide was Lucia. We walked off the ship and to the line of buses and she was standing there with a sign with my name on it and a very welcoming smile! Ah, relief!! She was fantastic, friendly and very knowledgeable. We went to Pompeii, where she was able to get our tickets without standing in the very long line and we went straight in. From there we did a drive on the Amalfi coast to Sorrento where we stopped for shopping. She was able to reserve us a table ahead of time at a family run restaurant on the way to Positano. It was 25 euro per person but was worth it. They brought plate after plate of fantastic "local cuisine" and all the wine and lemoncello we wanted. It was on a cliff that over looked the bay and had amazing views.

Thanks, Catello for a fabulous tour of the Amalfi Coast on Wednesday July 8th, 2009 and thank you again for taking us to that terrific restaurant near Ravello where we had the best pizza in all of Italy! Your stories and the towns that you showed us is something we will always remember. Sorrento Silver Star...highly recommended.

We are just back from our best holiday ever and the highlight, without doubt, was the wonderful day organised by Luisa.

We were met at our ship by the gorgeous Pasquale, our driver for the day. He escorted us to Pompeii where we had a great guide who shepherded us through all the main parts ensuring we wasted none of our precious time and yet missed nothing. Back with Pasquale, we were soon on our way along the Amalfi Coast, taking in Ravello, Amalfi, Positano and watching a very exciting diving competition from the cliffs at Furore. We had two hours in Sorrento for lunch and shopping and then Pasquale got our tickets and escorted us onto the Hydrofoil back to Naples to rejoin our ship.

This was a whistlestop tour and maybe not everyones choice but it was exactly what we asked for and only made possible with the help of Luisa and Pasquale. We had complete trust in Sorrento Silverstar from the first email contact which was always so friendly and prompt. The day itself was great fun, as you can imagine seven women with the gorgeous Pasquale, he was teased all day long and seemed to have fun too but was never anything other than professional throughout.

We can't wait to go back again for a longer stay, when we do, Sorrento Silverstar will be the first people we contact, we can't thank you enough for such a memorable day.

We want to tell you what a wonderful trip we had with your group to Ercolano and Napoli. Lucia was our guide. She is an excellent tour guide with such a wonderful personality and incredible
knowledge. In addition, to add to our trip, Max, our driver,
provided us with an excellent auto tour of Naples. It was all a great education and we appreciate the efforts of both Lucia and Max to make our trip such a success and they used every minute of our trip wisely and we feel we learned and saw so much of your lovely country.

Thank you for giving us such a professional crew and such an interesting itinerary.

I wanted to let you know we had a great trip to Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast with Aldo and Lucia. Aldo was especially gracious and very fun to be with for the day. Lucia was very knowledge, we thought Pompeii was very interesting. Eldo was so nice to buy us a bottle of Limoncello, we haven't opened it yet but we will. He told us how he likes to drink it with tonic water.

My friend and I booked a day trip of the Amalfi Coast with Silverstar with Luisa back in late January 2009, and had a wonderful day! Massimo was our driver, and he gave us great shopping and dining tips, the car was immaculate and roomy, and we enjoyed his knowledge and personality very much. We also had booked him to drive us from the Naples airport to our hotel in Sorrento when we arrived, which we thought would be a good idea after a long overnight flight, and were extremely glad we did. We even wound up booking him to take us back to Naples at the end of our stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Silverstar and Massimo to anyone traveling in the area; we would definitely use them again on our next trip (you can't just visit there once!)

Hi Luisa, I just want to thank you for making our excursion possible for our group of 17. As I mentioned to you, Lucia was the BEST. Her recommendation to have lunch at La Torteleria in Positano was the highlight of our trip. Go figure. They all loved Rome, Florence and Naples, but the magic of a great restaurant overlooking the Mediterranean, great food, lots of wine and limoncello loosened up the group. Very special time. They couldn't stop talking about it the whole time in our cruise. Great choice Lucia. Luisa, I will be recommending your company to all I get in contact with. When I searched the internet to find a reliable company which would provide a car and driver to tour the Amalfi coast I found many recommendations praising your service. Then I contacted you and you replied promptly in excellent English, and gave us invaluable information to plan our trip, which, incidentally, included telling us how to use public transport for part of the trip and avoid paying for your car for an extra day - very honest of you! From the minute our ship's tender arrived in Sorrento port we saw Massimo waiting for us with a big grin on his face. When we explained we needed a change of itinerary (due to the ship unexpectedly changing ports the following day) Massimo contacted you and all was sorted immediately so that we were able to include Amalfi and Ravello (many others on the ship's tours lost out on the opportunity of seeing these fabulous places). Massimo was a delight and teased us into thinking a beaten up elderly small Fiat was the car provided. Next to it stood a gleaming new comfortable and large car which of course was ours. Massimo was courteous,informative and a terrific driver. We had a wonderful day. So, very many thanks Louisa and Massimo, ours was a very happy experience and we shall certainly recommend you to everyone. Your service is excellent. Thank you.

From the first email I appreciated your quick responses and desire to customize our visit to the Naples area based on our likes. Everything you did from the time we were picked up was perfect! I think we saw all the best of the best without being rushed. I wanted to thank your tour company for a wonderfull day that we had at Pompaii,Herculaneum and the museo Archeologico Nazionale on Nov 13th. It was pouring rain at the start,- lighting, thunder, (very impressive weather!) Our guide and driver were prepared for the weather with alternatives to our original tour with included a hike up Mt Vesuvius. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank you for our wonderful trip to Castel di Sasso, the birthplace of my grandfather Dominic Apisa.
It was the highlight of our 17 day holiday. As you know, within an hour of arriving in Castel di Sasso, Catello found relatives who were my mother's first cousins and my second cousins. And to make the reunion even better, they still lived in the house where my grandfather was born.

As I had said, I would have been happy to just see the town, but to actually meet relatives was way beyond our expectations. It was an emotional reunion and we hope to maintain contact with our new cousins.

I appreciate all you did to make this happen. And I can't say enough about Catello. You could not have selected a better driver for us.
He was very professional and spoke perfect English. He pointed out sights on our way there and was very informative. And I give him complete credit for finding my relatives. Please extend our heartfelt thank you to Catello again.
